On the 21st, we cleaned and inspected three tanks in Buchanan County, Missouri. The first tank was a typical steel on-grade, the second was a steel standpipe, and the third was a concrete below grade. Our team is getting dialed into working together during setup and break down, so we were able to complete all three tanks pretty seamlessly.
The standpipe was a new tank for me. A standpipe is a pipe that is taller than it is wide - this one was 40 feet tall and only 8 feet in diameter. The small diameter makes it more difficult to set up all of the gear on top of the tank like we usually do, but my team lead has quite a bit of experience with these tanks and had recommendations to minimize the impact on the setup.
The third tank, a clear well (below grade concrete tank at the water plant) was tiny and went very quickly. Sadly, the water district guys told us that most of the area surrounding the clearwell, and possibly the water plant itself, would be underwater from the flooding that was affecting the area by the end of the week.
