Winside, Nebraska

When my team left Billings on May 17th, we were scheduled to work entirely in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.  Our scope of work consisted entirely of on-grade and below-grade tanks, with the only exception being the big reservoir in Hanna.

Fortunately, as our plans have evolved, so has the diversity of tanks we've done.

After completing the pedistal in Clearwater on the 16th, we drove to the town of Winside for another one.

This pedistal was a newer tank - it had the painter's rings in the correct location to hook up a down line at the painter's hatch under the tank.  It also had a railing around the top of the tank which both increased safety and decreased the amount of space I had to set up the tank.

The most challenging part of the setup was pulling the 50 foot lengths of soft and hard pipe up the 35 feet or so between the painter's hatch and the top of the tank by myself.

We got it done, though... and I added another notch to my belt.

The main concern the hiring manager at Liquid has for new employees is their ability to handle working at heights.  To date, I think the towers have been my favorite jobs.
